ILM Leadership & Management Development programme

Design, delivery of a 9 month accredited ILM level 3 modular programme for First Line Managers.  Modules include, leadership 360 degree profiling and feedback, identifying motives and behaviours through the use of the Strength Deployment Inventory, change management, building effective teams, problem solving and decision making, appraisal and performance management, recruitment and selection, coaching and training staff, communication skills, project management and follow-up workshop. First programme delivered in 2008 and has run yearly since then. Programme includes assessment and work-based assignments and coaching/tutorial support. 100% success rate. Work extended to introduce a Level 2 Leadership and Team skills Award for specialist leaders. Asked to deliver both programmes again for 2017/18.

Local Authority (Children & Education Services)

Aspiring Leaders modular programme designed and developed in 2007-15 as part of a leadership and management framework. To include work based projects, written reports and portfolio. By 2011, more than 60% of those completing the programmes had secured promoted posts. In excess of 100 completed work-based projects that made an organisational impact on the service. 22 programmes delivered.

Local Authority

New programme to develop the coaching skills of leaders within the organisation. Working with cohort of Service Managers, Head Teachers and Deputy Head Teachers to develop their skills and to build capacity within organisation. Result being that those attending the programme would develop coaching skills of their own staff and pupils in their own schools.

Financial Services/Regulatory – Role of the Line Manager

Two-day programme plus one-day follow up. For new managers and included areas such as essential behaviours of a manager linked to competency framework, building a successful team, diversity and inclusion, delegation skills, coaching skills, managing change, performance management and giving feedback, skills practice and action learning. Success of programme has resulted in this being the eleventh years that it has been delivered.

ILM Level 3 Award in Coaching

Delivered in education and social care team. Participants completed number of hours of work-based coaching, reflected on their practice and completed assignment work. 100% success rate.

Private Sector

ILM Endorsed Effective Coaching & Mentoring Programme, to develop coaching and mentoring skills of an internal pool. Programme includes modular workshops, supervision and peer support, one to one support from tutor, reflective logs and assignment/assessment.
